EXPECTATIONS FOR GROUP MEMBERSHIPAnyone who is a Watership Down fan should feel free to join, but it should be understood that members will be expected to at least be moderately involved within the group; being active simply means that you draw your character on occasion and use them for RP purposes over on the “Children of El Ahrairah” RP board.
CONTINUITYAlthough the line art for the group (drawn by IrisHime) is meant to be invocative of the movie, the group itself runs off of the book’s continuity (i.e. – Blackavar doesn’t die, Hawkbit and Buckthorn are two different characters, Bluebell, etc). And we CERTAINLY do not run off of the television series.
RP within the group will take place anywhere after the first book, and may be inclusive of (but not strictly limited to) events detailed within “Tales from Watership Down”.

WHO ARE THE MODS?
are your mods. We are all equally important, even if IrisHime is listed as the group founder. Any questions may be directed to or answered by any of the three of us. WHO DO THE MODS PLAY?The mods are the only ones allowed to RP as the original cannon characters. Playing as a character from the books is strictly prohibited. But the mods will only use the cannon characters as fodder; they’re background material that will only show up from time to time. The emphasis of Children of ElAhrairah is FAN CHARACTERS. Thus, each mod has one specific “group mascot” character that they will play, as well as a few select other rabbits - mods may opt to adopt rabbits who receive no applications in adoption events.
TYPES OF RABBITSMuch like a miniature society, the warren will have different stratus or “roles” that can be acquired. The roles indicate what the rabbits do within the warren, although having a “role” beyond “buck” or “doe” does not make any rabbit better than any other. It merely means that rabbit has particular traits that are more developed in one arena or another.

HOW DO I GET MY OWN RABBIT?Children of ElAhrairah will offer six unique ways of acquiring a rabbit:
ADOPTION ROUNDS: Adoption competitions will happen occasionally, where anywhere from 3-5 rabbits will be made available. In order to adopt, one must submit an illustration and written information about the character that they hope to adopt from the adoption sheet. At the end of the round, all 3-5 rabbits will find new homes. If a rabbit does not receive an entry, a mod may opt to adopt that rabbit as their own. BREEDING EVENTS: Occasionally, the group will host Breeding Events. Using a lottery system, members who submit to have their bucks and does paired up will receive a litter. Bobstones are required admission to enter the Breeding Events. 3 Bobstones will be required. CASH: Rabbits can be bought for cash, although this method is not the way mods prefer. The prices are: $5 USD (regular)/$10 USD (ranked). If you choose to purchase a rabbit, you will have the choice of which mod you want to be your colorist. POINTS: Rabbits can also be purchased for DA points. Like with cash, DA points will be paid to the order of whichever colourist you choose (IrisHime, Zukuro, or Meemzer). The prices are: 500
(regular)/1000 (ranked) BRIBES: That’s right! Your mods can be bribed. For those who don’t think that they can win an adoption round, and yet have have no monnies that they wish to spare, the mods can always be BRIBED. A bribe requires that you still draw an illustration of the rabbit that you want, and create a story/biography for them, which you will note to the mods in private, in order to have the design approved of - but you will also need to do a piece of fanart for whichever colourist you wish to bribe:

draw BLUEFLAX for When you bribe for a rabbit, you have the option of receiving a Kitten, Adolecent, or a Buck or Doe. Ranked lines are curently unavailable for bribes. Please note that we stress that any fanart done for the mods, for bribing purposes, MUST be some of your best work. You absolutely have to put your heart and soul into it, because other people will be working very hard to get their rabbits in other ways. If the “bibe” art is found lacking, you may be told no. We aren’t going to be harsh however: all we ask is that you try your best. Anyone who tries their best will get their rabbit.
BOBSTONES!!: What are Bobstones? Bobstones are like group currency. Bobstones are acquired though group activity. Post art and comment a lot? You’ll get a Bobstone. Make ten in-character posts on the board? You’ll get a Bobsone. Prices with Bobstones are: 5 Bobstones (regular)/10 Bobstones (ranked).(*!!IMPORTANT!! – Seers will only be acquired through adoption rounds, but they will also COST 5 additional Bobstones. This ensures only active members walk away with a rabbit Seer.)
HOW MANY RABBITS CAN I HAVE?Currently, each member is only allowed to have 25 rabbits. This includes the MODS. A running list will be kept of everyone’s OCs.
WHAT CAN MY RABBIT LOOK LIKE?Primarily, all rabbits are brown. There are a few exceptions within the movie (gray/silver rabbits for example), so those colours will be acceptable too, but in small quantity. These are to look like normal rabbits, with normal markings. But do not despair; brown is a very versatile colour!! Your rabbit can be red-brown, yellow-brown, green-brown, dark-brown, light-brown. The list goes on and on. Rabbits ARE also allowed to have just about any coloured eyes (orange, pink, green). Essentially, no blue or green or rainbow coloured rabbits with wings. Keep things realistic, guys.
WHAT CAN I NAME MY RABBIT?Rabbits should be named after seeds, nuts, berries, plants, trees (examples: Hazel, Strawberry, Acorn, Blackberry, Dandelion, Holly, Cowslip etc); can pertain to other animals (example: Hawkbit), can refer to places or things (example: IrisHime's rabbits Woodbridge and Edgecreek), or they can have Lapine names (examples: Thlayli, Hrairoo, Hyzenthlay, Thlaynlé, Nildro-hain). Basically, nothing like "Sally" or "Thomas" or "Peter Cottontail" will be accepted.
I ALREADY HAVE A WSD OC, MAY I USE THEM IN THE GROUP?CoEA actually strongly prefers that members do not use 'per-existing' Watership Down OCs. There are a lot of various reasons for that, some of which being;
-your character's design might not line up with what the mods consider to be an agreeable design for the universe
-you might be used to having your characters played a certain way, and discover that the rules and limitations of the group refrain you from keeping your character that you want for them to be;
-some people like to pair up their OCs with the cannon characters, and since the mods don't want any arguments on hand over who's character gets to be "paired" with any of the cannon characters, we're going to avoid that altogether.
If your character's story & design fall in line with what the mods consider acceptable, we can try to work something out (most likely as a custom), however there are various reasons why we could refuse someone from using a pre-existing OC within CoEA.
HOW CAN I TELL IF MY RABBIT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED TO THE GROUP?So that you can be sure if your rabbit has been accepted into the group, all Rabbits within ChildrenOfElAhrairah will be CERTIFIED:
You will get your choice of one of four different backdrops, and corresponding information will be filled out for your rabbit. It is the proof that your rabbit is indeed a member of Children of ElAhrairah. Art featuring rabbits not approved of by the group will not be accepted to the group. After you have received your cert, you may draw and submit artwork of your character, and other certified characters in the group.

WHY ALL THE RULES?Rules are in place to ensure order. We want to manage the group efficiently and smoothly, and we want fair treatment for everyone participating. The group's art will not be shared because IrisHime worked hard on it, and it was made ESPECIALLY for this group in the hopes of making things look official and uniform. Many hours were spent on the art, it is not yours to have. It is only for authorized use within the group.
